Welcome to Primary 7 b.
This term we will be studying the Scottish Parliament and learning how laws are passed. The children will also take part in their own mock election.
In Maths, the children will be consolidating their knowledge of whole numbers as well as learning how to read, collect and record data in different ways.
Parvana’s Journey will be the focus in Reading this term, giving the children the opportunity to develop their reading skills while enjoying this exciting and touching novel.
Our young writers will analyse the wonderful poem The Highwayman by Alfred Noyes, and create their own poems in the same style.
There will be a focus throughout the year on transition into secondary school. A programme of events has been organised by Holyrood to help the children prepare for this big step. It begins this term with a visit to Holyrood to take part in a public speaking workshop.
Homework will be assigned by either Mr Duffield or Ms Currie on a Monday. It should be completed and returned by Thursday. All children have a homework folder in which to keep their homework jitters and worksheets. Please ensure that these are brought to school everyday.
Gym is on Tuesday and a Thursday. Please make sure that each child has their gym kit in their bag. Children are NOT to wear their kit to school.
